Carmel Kitchen Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

After reading such positive reviews about Carmel my wife and I were looking forward to a long overdue date night here. Unfortunately our Carmel experience didn't even come close to our anticipation. The ambiance is pleasant although I thought the decor was pretty "blah." Using iPads to view the menu and order drinks and food was pretty cool. It certainly helped expedite things. Our "waiter" was also handy in case we had questions or needed help. On to the food. Literally everything we had was extremely average. From the seared pork belly, Nan's goat cheese (my wife questioned whether it was really Philadelphia cream cheese), house salad, lobster bisque, to the Basque crab cake entree, it all tasted like something anyone could create in their own kitchen using the internet for a recipe. I really hate being so negative, but there was just very little unique flavor to anything. Everything tasted as if it had been bought from a food wholesaler and simply presented to us, or prepared in advance and reheated before serving. Finally, you have to wonder about a new place that clears out by 830pm on a Friday night. Not a promising sign. The final kicker was watching one of the employees scarf down a meal at one of the table tops across from us. Sorry guys. One on done with Carmel.

Love, love, love Carmel and it has quickly become my preferred hang out spot! Between the delicious food, the amazing drinks, and the great atmosphere, this is a great spot for various gatherings. Carmel had become my girls night spot especially for their happy hour! In the 15+ times I've been, I've yet had a bad meal. I highly recommend their flatbreads, the steak frites, or their lobster bisque! I've read other reviews and I would agree this isn't very child friends but as a childless 20 something, I'm ok with that.

My family and I visit the Carmel in Winter Park all the time but we are very excited this new location opened, as we can literally walk there. We went for the first time last night, was nice and busy which we are excited to see. We sat at a high top at the bar, the waitress was great and very attentive. I saw my good friend, and gave her some good suggestions, (the chickpea fries are to die for). We ordered the mezze platter which was great, and the ahi tuna appetizer. We will definitely be visiting this location over and over again, and I will be bringing lots of my friends. Great happy hour, great weekly specials.

Great place. Nice decor. Cool music playing. Nice looking crowd. Appetizer and pomi tini was great. Ordering from iPad was cool but easy to get carried away ordering too much stuff. Entrees were good not great. Seared tuna was just average. Lemon chicken was good. Oh my the dessert was great. Pound cake and strawberries.

We had a fabulous party for 50 at Carmel in Altamonte last night. The food was expertly prepared and served. All the guests raved about the ambiance, food, service, etc. Thank you Adam Ducharme, the chef, for your expertise. If you are considering a party or just a meal, don't pass this restaurant up. We love it.

GO ON SUNDAY FOR BRUNCH!! OPEN AT 11 AM!! We were just driving by and the "wine bar" on the sign caught our eye so we decided to stop in...So glad we did! When we walked in the door Bernard greeted us with a smile that made us feel welcome and really set the mood. Victoria provided excellent service, she was so good in fact we didn't have a chance to use the iPad, but we don't feel we missed out. She made a great wine suggestion so she earned my trust right away! We just had the flatbread and it was delicious. We can't wait to go back, if the rest of the menu is as good as the flatbread we will be in heaven. The atmosphere is very comfortable and it was a relaxing Sunday afternoon stop. Don't pass this one up...it's worth the stop.

Went for lunch the other day, and I will be back. We ordered the cheese appetizer and it was simple, but delicious. Our server suggest the meatball sandwich. My friend got that and he loved it. I ordered the chicken and artichoke Flatbread it was so good. The only thing I was disappointed about was there was no changing table in the bathroom. The manager walked in mid diaper change and kind of gave me a cold vibe. It was disheartening. Expecially because she was pregnant, and could understand why I had my baby spread eagle on the sink. She just grabbed the paper towels and didn't say I word. I even tried to joke with her, and not even a smirk. Our server was excellent, and even the hostess came back to talk to us about our meal.

This restaurant is close by my apartment so I wanna give them a try before I move away. The food was good most of the stuff we can ordered through an iPad and send it to the kitchen. Even when. Finish, there is a card swipe on an iPad to make a payment. So for a generation like my, this is supper convenience. I like their desserts and I think the chickpea fried are the high recommended dish. They have wine that pairing up with the meal, so for a wine drinker, that is awesome.

Carmel Kitchen is a hip wine bar located in Longwood, FL. I have enjoyed lunch and dinner there multiple times. They have a (very) small outside area for nice days although service outside does not seem to be as good as inside (out of sight, out of mind). The staff is friendly and works hard to do a good job. I've been offered wine to taste while we waited for our table, had the manager offer free dessert for the kitchen bringing the wrong food to the table and generally been happy with the service. Do try the chick pea fries - served with three sauces and delicious! Overall good menu and wine selection. I like it that I can pay my bill on the tablet left at the table. My credit card never leaves my hand. They also have a rewards program worth checking out.

I've eaten at the Winter Park location and thoroughly enjoyed it. Since I was in the area I decided to hit up the Altamonte location. In the past I've ordered the Madras Chicken sandwich with Chickpea fries and Pistachio Apricot Quinoa. This time I ordered the Madras Chicken Salad which contains "organic mixed greens, curry, almonds, harissa chutney, seasonal fruit, radish, lemon vinaigrette." The seasonal fruit consisted of strawberries, dates, baby tomatoes, and mango. It's the perfect summer salad before hitting up the springs. I cleaned every last morsel from my bowl.

We've looked forward to eating at Carmel's since we moved here. It certainly lived up to our expectations! You have a server AND an iPad and you can use either. The sangria is really delicious as is the dessert.

Located in the Jamestown Plaza, where the Friendly's used to be located- in front of the Stein Mart. I've enjoyed so many meals at Winter Park that I went into my first lunch at this location with high expectations. My expectations were met. Service was spot on, lunch menu was prepared well and my 3 business associates who had never been to Carmel Cafe were impressed with the varied menu, food quality and presentation and the level of service. Great pick for a weekday business lunch. I look forward to dining at this location again. As with the Winter Park location, the Club Carmel rewards are tracked, the same promotions and specials are run.

I love the Carmel Cafe in Winter Park and was very excited to hear that they were opening one in Altamonte. I was even MORE excited when I found out it was just a few miles from my house. Woo hoo! I finally got the chance to check them out last night and it was great, just as we expected. We like to go for their "4 after 4" happy hour. They have 4 wines, 4 appetizers, and 4 drinks that are just $4 each from 4-7 pm everyday. Our waiter Joshua was great - he was friendly, efficient, and very knowledgeable. I decided to try their house-infused cocktail, but he came back a couple of minutes later and told me that it wasn't available. He told me I could pick any drink off their signature cocktail menu and they would give it to me for the happy hour price. I thought that was really great. I decided to go with the Twisted Berry (Captain Morgan rum, triple sec, agave, wild berry tea, strawberries, & a splash of sprite) and it was amazing! I was very happy that the food and service at this location was on par with the location in Winter Park. This one is WAY more convenient and I will definitely be back. I mean, where else can you get 2 appetizers and 2 drinks for $16??

Food is pretty darn good! Service, not so much but they're trying. The boyfriend was super happy with the steak and eggs. I got the French toast which was awesome! They were out of breakfast potatoes :(

Finally came to this Carmel in it's new location, and it's nice to know that this area/location is a growing development. Just so that you're aware, they're only open at 4 for dinner. Not for lunch, which I got a little bummed out about since I wanted to come here for lunch but had to revert to a new restaurant. But no biggie, just a little tip! I tried out their happy hour, and honestly I thought they would have had a bigger selection on options. They have a $4 menu which consisted of 4 different appetizers, Magherita Flatbread, Chickpea Fries, Calamari Frites, and Hummus Dip. I wished all the appetizers for $4, because I like more options :) But the appetizers were good, my personal favorite were the Calamari Frites! As for my cocktail, me and my friend ordered the Pomo-Tini, a really good drink, but can be dangerous. So be careful ;) The drink menu for happy hour was also limited, which is another thing I wish they had more options. But on Wednesdays they have half off Wine bottles, and half off wine drinks. Which isn't bad at all, especially for you wine lovers out there. But I still like Carmel, they're food is good, and the service was really good.

My wife and I have driven past here numerous times and always wondered how the food was. The exterior just seemed pretty inviting and relaxed. So one day we did, along with our 1 y/o son and my sister-in-law. Straight off the atmosphere inside is pretty much suited for more or an adult audience. Staff was very nice. We felt a little out of place, but the boy was hungry so we decided to hang. Wish we didn't. This place was not too family friendly for those with smaller kids. First off there was no printed kids menu and ouR server claimed they didn't even have one and we had to just order a regular entree for him. Well, that's nice to know AFTER we sat down and had our drink orders taken. Fortunately my wife was tooling around trying to find SOMETHING he could eat and came across a kids menu link on the iPad ordering menu. The server had no idea it even existed, but it was only the same stuff you order on the 'adult' menu anyway. We ordered the mac and cheese for the little man.... But that's all the kids meal was - mac and cheese. No fruit, no side, nothing. Ok, then. $7 I ordered the pork belly. Dry and chewy; not worth the $9 (nor was it the portion they claim it to be in the picture on the iPad). Sister in law had the ahi tuna salad. Only four small pieces of ahi tuna came with the bowl of lettuce. I could keep going on about the disappointing portions and quality for the price, but I want to come back to the mac and cheese we ordered for my son. While feeding him, about 4 noodles in he started freaking out and crying. We thought we accidentally gave him too hot of a piece, but nope. All within a good luke warm temp. We try all of his food before he eats it and didn't detect anything, either. He wouldn't eat anymore of it so I ended up finishing it off. It wasn't until I was a few bites in that I detected a notable 'heat' from some kind of spice. I asked the waitress what kind of cheese was in the mac and she listed off various mild cheeses... Oh, and one last unmentioned ingredient: CRUSHED RED PEPPPER. Who serves KID MENU mac and cheese with crushed red pepper? I couldn't believe it. No wonder he freaked out. We paid. We left. We'll probably never be back. $80 check and not one of us was really satisfied for the cost. Best thing there were the $5 martinis on special for Thursdays. After everything, the staff was very nice and helpful with seating and ordering (aside from only mild knowledge of the menu and the items actually on it) and the restaurant looks like a nice place to hang out. Just not for us.

I've heard great things about Carmel so when a friend and I decided to meet for Happy Hour, and it happen to be a Wednesday, it was the perfect place to meet! We only indulged on appetizers and a few glasses of wine but all were excellent. Besides who can beat a bill for two less than $20 at a upscale happy hour?! I'll be back to order a few more glasses of wine on those iPads, you can bet on that.

Finally!! An upscale(ish) place to eat in Altamonte Springs!! I don't have to drive to winter park!! I went just to try the place out and was so surprised at the interesting food and wonderful drinks! I took to the ordering on the ipad right away. How great is it that you can order your next drink on the ipad and not have to wait for the waitress!!! The only thing that needs work is the wait staff. They are not really knowledgable about what they sell. I think because they just opened this will get better which is why I am keeping the 5 star rating. That and the food really was amazing. I think I grew another stomach just for dessert. I had to poached pear. OMG I may have died.

We visited this location while in town for a friends wedding. Friday night at 530pm walk in. The atmosphere was very good. Even though we sat at a table, the lounge seating seemed intriguing if you were just in for a drink or appetizers. We liked the "Menu Pad" concept for ordering. It is nice to see a picture of the food that you are about to order. Our server was very helpful and terrific customer service. The happy hour specials are a great choice and the main courses were cooked perfect. We had the steak frites, the scallops and pork belly, the braised short ribs. The calamari appetizer are calamari spears, the trio dip and crackers appetizer, chickpea fries, and the flatbread were all great. The crackers to go with the trip dip could be a little more, but they will bring you more crackers if you ask. Only complaint we had was for the sad drinkers the glasses are small and they add too much ice, so refills are needed frequently. Definitely recommend.

We had a great dinner tonight. I had the shrimp ceviche and crab cakes. Both were excellant. My wife found the lemon chicken a little overcooked but the flavor was fine. Service and atmosphere were right up there. Highly recommended.

I ordered a side house salad and the chicken Tuscan. The different blend of spices were quite tasty and delightful. I wanted to drink the sauce. The rest of the group really enjoyed their food. The wait staff were very attentive. I will definitely be back.

I just had lunch there with a team from work. This was my first time at the restaurant. I had a French dip sandwich, and others near me had delicious-looking burgers, flatbreads, soups and salads, all of which they liked. The au jus for my sandwich wasn't just salty boullion, it was seasoned au jus. Delicious! The food part was great, and to me that's what's most important. The service, however, was really slow. It was nearly 105 minutes from the time we were seated until the time we left, with bizarre long pauses between getting us drinks, appetizers, and taking our orders. It's lunch time on a Thursday... this has got to be quick! Don't get me wrong, the wait staff was very nice, and for the most part they got things right, they were just very slooooow.

Went here for lunch with friends who are regulars and was quite pleased with the international flavour of the menu. Also free wifi is always welcome. Thought the service was also speedy while being courteous and really liked the iPad's on the table that allowed you to view what dishes looked like. (Although that might be a deterrent as I was initially going to get the chickpea fries but changed my mind cause the picture looked unappetizing). Got the ice-tea (ok, nothing special) and the Lunch Mezze platter (Muhammarra, edamame hummus, pistachio apricot quinoa, roasted garlic, olives, grilled pita). Really liked the edamame humus plus the baked garlic cloves. The olives were pretty decent too. Couldn't really taste the pomegranates and I was expecting the Muhammarra to be a bit more tart and tangy but it was just overwhelmingly red bell pepper flavour. Was really disappointed in The pita bread that accompanied the platter because had expected it to be house made, but it instead tasted like the kind you get from Costco. My dining companions got a burger (verdict = excellent), a house salad + lobster flat bread (verdict = okay, salad was good although massive and flat bread could have done with some more lobster presence) and grilled lemon chicken and artichoke asparagus (verdict also deemed okay. This diner felt toppings could have been more generous, especially with the asparagus as he mostly tasted bread and not toppings). So my final verdict? Yep, I'd come back when next in Orlando, but might give the flatbreads a miss.

I've visited Carmel here in Altamonte twice now and had solid dining experiences both times. Carmel is a bit Seasons 52ish, but with a little less elegance and slightly lower prices. Their food tends to be a bit bolder flavored, sometimes to the point of losing balance just slightly. More on that later. First, the service. Both times I have dined here, the service was excellent. That doesn't mean that the service was quick. In fact, the first time, our food was delayed. Our server took the effort to notify us as soon as she found out that the food wood be delayed, though, so she set reasonable expectations and kept us informed. Most companies fail in customer service, not because things go wrong, but because they don't communicate professionally when they do. Carmel gets an A+ in my book. For an appetizer, try the Chickpea Fries with Tomato Jam and Curry Aioli. Tomato Jam sounds so much more elegant than spiced fresh ketchup. It's spiced fresh ketchup, though. Skip the jam and dip straight for the Curry Aioli, which is a brilliant sauce. The Braised Short Rib and Portobella flatbread was good, but needed a touch more sweet from the Mission Fig Marmalade. The Tomato Basil soup didn't skimp on the fresh basil, but it also didn't allow the fresh herb flavor to overpower the sweetness of this homemade marinara textured soup. This is one of the best tomato soups I've ever had. I can't taste fresh basil without thinking about "Isabella" by John Keats and wondering how it was grown, but that's my hangup and problem. For an entree, I had the Braised Short Ribs with Polenta on both visits. The short ribs come with a feta, fresh tomatoes, and onion glaze. Some bites, this glaze was a wonderful and intriguing balance of flavors. On other bites, there was a lime note that was just slightly overpowering and "off" tasting. The short rib was tender, but the side stole the show. As a proper southern American, descended from proper southern Italians, I can tell you that the Polenta (grits) are awesome. In the end, it's the sides that shine at Carmel, along with its solid but moderately priced young wine list.

Our family came for brunch and had the best crab omelet. I have dietary restrictions so they kindly modified the dish for me and the customer service was the best. Victoria was our server and was so friendly and attentive. And the manager, Nick, came over and checked on us, the chef came out to discuss my food changes. Overall the customer service was a 10! Now the food was wonderful as it always is here.

My husband and I were super excited when this location was opening. We had been wanting to try the winter park location but never had the opportunity. We gave their happy hour a try... I like to start on a positive note... The chickpea fries were so new and yummy! We really enjoyed them! The margarita flat bread was also good. I enjoyed using the iPad to order our food and get information on items. Being a vegetarian that was super helpful. I also liked being able to pay on the iPad... No having to wait for a check! The server was hot and cold. She was rather put off about not being able to explain how to order... I guess she did not appreciate our tech savvy. We also asked her about a few food items that may have contained meat products and both times she did remember us asking. She questioned us when she brought us the wrong drinks. Another thing to note... I know this is a wine bar but they only had four beers to the hubs dismay. The atmo is rather dark and cozy... I enjoyed it. We may give it one more go... Mostly because of those chickpea fries!

Nice place for a glass of wine and maybe an app. My Moroccan Chicken had all the presentation and taste of a microwave lean cuisine. Absolute crap. Made me glad I didn't order the large portion. More of a bad thing wouldn't have made it better. The images of the entrée on the menu were nothing like what was served and like said, looked to have been prepared in an airline galley. Not wanting to come off like a Gordon Ramsey wannabe, I tried to reconcile the quality with price paid and politely finish my meal. In hindsight, Even at $12 the dish was a poor value. If you're a real wine aficionado this place will leave you wanting. If you just like a nice glass of vino with a few decent choices, Carmel is fine. But I recommend knowing your wines because the staff although friendly enough has no real knowledge of the selections. The iPad based menu doesn't give any descriptions of the wines either. Selecting the more info option just brings up an image of the label. If there is an option for reviews and descriptions, we missed it. All in all not horrible, but the food is mediocre and although priced below Seasons 52 to which others have compared it to, I'd rather spend a bit more and have a better experience. Lots of potential here, but it looks like someone built a nice restaurant and skimped on staff training and kitchen oversight.

Visiting my parents back in Altamonte Springs, this restaurant is a breath of fresh air for the area that is riddled with uninspired corporate chains. The atmosphere was trendy, and I was pleasantly surprised with how busy it was. Luckily we were still able to get a table. There is a small outdoor patio in the front, and inside there is a decent sized bar with a lounge area. We were definitely not at Friendly's any more. The wine menu was great, with a wonderful assortment of varietals. They offer three different size options for some of the wines, making it fun to assemble you're own wine flight, or indulge in a glass a little larger than a regular glass if you don't want to order a bottle. The food menu was also fun. There were many different small plates, from Flatbreads to salads, from ceviche to salads. The service was pleasant and caring but slow, we ordered our wine and meal on the iPad before the server arrived with waters. (In addition to the paper menu, there is an iPad Menu available as well which you can place your order with sans server. If you are tech savvy... go for it! If not, just wait for your server.) This is a nice place in the Altamonte area for a girl's night out, date, or even group gathering.

They have good special if you want to check out the place. Happy hour is 4-7 and the 3 course on Sunday is awesome. The ceviche is awful, totally tasted freezer burned and like dirty shrimp water. Absolutely gross. For some good ceviche head to Bone Fish up the road.
